Guide to Printing and Exporting ITR-V to CPC - Bangalore Income Tax Department.

A separate PINCODE 560500 has been issued to the Centralized Processing Center (CPC), the Income Tax Department located in Bengaluru Post Office. Taxpayers from now on can send their emails to “Centralized Processing Center, Income Tax Department , Bengaluru 560500” for the purpose of submitting ITR-V forms and other documents that require a virtual transfer method.

If you downloaded ITR-V from the Tax Department, you will need a password to unlock it. Upon receipt of your ITR-V (permit), you must send it to CPC, Bangalore within 120 days of your e-filing your Income Tax return email.

1. What is ITR-V?

ITR-V is a one-page document, which requires you to sign in to INK EBLUE and submit it by regular mail or instant mail. You cannot send an ITR-V. You do NOT need to send any supporting documents and ITR-V. Just one page signed by ITR-V. We strongly recommend that you submit your ITR-V ahead of time to process your tax return. Don't forget, okay?

2. Detailed instructions provided by Income Tax Department

  • Please use the Ink Jet / Laser printer to print the ITR-V Form.
  • Avoid printing on Dot Matrix printer.
  • The ITR-V form should only be printed in black ink.
  • Do not use any other ink option to print the ITR V.
  • Make sure the print is clear and not a simple / blurred print.
  • Please do not print any water marks on ITR-V. The only valid watermark is the "Income tax Department" which is automatically printed on each ITR-V.
  • Document sent by post to CPC must be literally signed by INK EBLUE.
  • Copy of signatures will not be accepted.
  • Signatures and any handwritten text should not be written in Barcode.
  • Barcode and barcode numbers must be clearly visible.
  • Only A4 size white paper should be used.
  • Avoid typing anything on the back of paper.
  • Hollow paper and any other paper size should be avoided.
  • Do not use a stapler in ITR V approval.
  • If you are posting original and updated reviews, do not print them back. Use two separate sheets of paper to print the ITR-V separately.
  • More than one ITR-V can be sent in the same envelope.
  • Please do not send attachments, cover letter, envelopes with front stamp etc. and ITR-V.
  • The ITR-V form is required to be submitted to the Central Processing Center, Tax Department, Bengaluru, Karnataka-560500, by regular mail or express mail.
  • ITR-Vs that do not comply with the above specifications may be rejected or approval may be delayed.
  • Please note, if your confirmation is pending, ITR-V does not prove that you have filed your return.
