Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave three gifts to the taxpayers in August -Faceless Assessment, Faceless Appeal and Taxpayers Charter. Of these, the facility of faceless appeal is to be implemented from 25th September i.e. today. Let's know what this facility is and how taxpayers will benefit from it.
Through this facility, an attempt will be made to curb corruption and arbitrariness. Under this, if there is any complaint of taxpayers, then his appeal will be sent to the officer selected in a random manner. No one will know about who this officer is. Not only this, this officer can be from any city. The income tax payer will not need to visit any office for this.
Team will decide
The final decision on this appeal will be made by a team of officers and taxpayers will also have the right to review it. However, in cases of serious crime, big tax evasion, international tax matters or country-sensitive issues, etc., this facility will not be benefited.
PM announced On 13 August, PM Modi launched Transparent Taxation Program (Transparent Taxation System-Honoring the Honorable). Under this, 3 facilities were announced, which are Faceless Assessment, Faceless Appeal and Taxpayers Charter. Efforts are being made to strengthen honest taxpayers through this new system. The Prime Minister said that this is the beginning of a new journey. This will reduce the government's interference. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had recently said that these steps will reduce the taxpayers' troubles and simplify the tax system.
